Strength in the Lord

I felt the Lord calling me to write about how we need to look for our strength in Him. He is the source of our comfort and our giver of strength, so why look anywhere else for either of those things?

The Bible says, "He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength." (Isaiah 40:29 KJV).

Right now in the season of life that I am in, I am learning a lot of patience, and learning to rely more on the Lord than I have in the past. I am asking Him to give me the strength that only He can give, and to help me hold on. I can feel Him working in my life, and giving me wisdom in the decisions that I make every day. I can feel Him gradually increasing my strength.

Isaiah 40:30 (KJV) tells us, "Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall."

We will fall. We will make mistakes. In all of it though, the Lord will be there to pick us up, dust us off, and forgive us. He is the GOD of many chances. He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5 KJV). The Lord will be right beside us throughout this entire life if we just trust Him with our hearts and devote our lives to Him.

The Lord promises to renew our strength in Isaiah 40:31(KJV):

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

I am trusting God to renew the strength I have lost in becoming weary and worrying. I am learning to realize that worrying will get me nowhere. If I use the time that I would spend worrying about a situation, to instead pray, I would feel a whole lot better and experience the God-given comfort and strength I am seeking.

I am asking only the Lord's will in this season of my life, and that He would help me see what He wants me to see in all that I am enduring.

And, I am committing to pray about anything and everything that comes to my mind. I have learned that nothing is unimportant to our Lord, and that I can come to Him anytime with the desires of my heart and the things that matter most to me.

This is my prayer:

Lord Jesus, I thank you for this season of my life first and foremost. I thank you for giving me life overall. I will praise you no matter what comes. I ask that you would renew the strength I have lost and make it new. I pray that you would give me the kind of comfort that can only come from you, and the patience that is God-given. Lord, I ask that you would have only YOUR WILL in this season and every season of my life, and that you would grant me understanding to see things through your eyes. I thank you for everything that you do for me, and for always being here to listen to my every call. I love you and want to serve you my whole life.

In Thy Holy Name, AMEN.
