This past weekend, my family and I went away for our annual family reunion. We all woke up at 4 a.m. and left our house by 5:20 a.m. All of us were very sleepy, so we decided our first stop would be to go get some coffee at the place where my cousin works! It was a good idea because after that I wasn't all that tired anymore 😉 (all you have to do is give me coffee and I'll be just fine haha). After that, we headed to go visit some family and my dad's friend. He lives by the lake and has an awesome YouTube studio room with a kickin' sound system! He even played a few songs on it for us!
We went for a walk around his community and stopped at a dock on the lake to hang out for a little while. The weather was amazing that day! It was warm and sunny, but the chill in the air called for a sweatshirt. You could really feel that beautiful, cool mountain breeze. Afterwards, he drove us all around his neighborhood, and we got to ride in the bed of his truck! It was a lot of fun! When we got back to his house, we said our goodbyes and my family headed to a nearby state park. When we finally got there, we were all excited because we hadn't been there for a few years!
When I tell you that this place is amazing, I mean AMAZING! This state park is full of breath-taking creeks, wooded hiking trails, a few historic sites, and so much more! There are also two campgrounds within the state park.
My family and I went for a hike on the trails, and my brother, sister, and I just had to wade in the creek before we left. The water was pretty cold, so it was sort of a shock haha.
After we left the state park, we went to surprise my cousin while he was at work! He was definitely surprised because when he saw us he was a bit confused, and then he was full of smiles. We looked all around the store, and I took my time looking at all of the hunting and archery things. I wanted to buy everything, but I knew I couldn't haha.
By the time we left the store, we were all beyond hungry, so we went to eat some dinner! Once we were done eating, we did some shopping at a few stores, and then finally we checked into our hotel. I was more than ready for bed that night because it had been a busy day, and we had done so much.
The next day was just as activity-packed as the previous. My cousins got to our hotel at 8 a.m., and we all had breakfast together before we headed to headed to a farm to spend most of the day. The farm we went to had a bunch of different fall activities to do. There was a corn maze (which we actually got through!), a pumpkin patch, hay rides, and tons of other little things to do.
Later that night, our other cousin and his family came to visit us for a little while before we called it a day. Because we don't see them that often, it was nice to hang out together ☺︎.
On the last day, we had our annual family reunion. It was a good time of fun with our family, and getting to be all together. I always enjoy when we get to see our family, and savor the moments with them (especially with my cousins).
